Butuan City will be now served by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as it nears its completion which is located at Libertad highway in front of Libertad sports complex. The presence of Bangko Sentral will reflects that Butuan is a booming economy in Northeastern Mindanao. It was also noted that lots of banks sprouting this year that you can see in different strategic locations in the city to serve the peoples in terms of business and personal assistance.
It was reported that the presence of BSP in the regions has gradually been enhanced and strengthened since the first central bank office outside Manila started operations in San Fernando, La Union then expanded with the establishment of 18 branches in other key cities and urban centers in the country.
Each regional branch and office has been transformed into a learning and advocacy hub, information channel and surveillance center for data, which serve as inputs to crafting policies, living up to its new mandate as the “listening posts” of the bank in the countryside. Even as upgrading of the facilities of regional offices and branches continues, plans are already in the pipeline for new branches in the cities of Butuan, Baguio, Puerto Princesa and Tagbilaran.
